Before the Hat
![]() |
| canvas map |
So much Walt Disney World goodness, all in one image! My wife gave me this several years ago for an anniversary and I finally got it framed. And now I can share it with you. The image, which is 17" x 11 1/2", has been copied onto a canvas. I don't know anything about this piece but I can assume the date is around 1993 because Splash Mountain (1992) can be seen in the upper left-hand corner. Since there is no Tower of Terror or Blizzard Beach, it is probably before 1994 or 1995. And, of course, there is no Sorcerer's Hat in MGM.Sunday, March 31, 2013
Happy Easter from Main Street USA
| Walt Disney World Taffy Tin |
Let's celebrate with this cheery tin. It features 5 great scenes from around the Magic Kingdom. The original Big D/Globe Head logo is in gold on the lid made to resemble a brass plate. The tin measures 8" x 5.5" x 5".

In the Parks - Magic Kingdom Attraction Posters
![]() |
| Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Attraction Poster Magic Kingdom Entrance |
Here are some additional original logos that I searched out on my recent trip to WDW. They are on attraction posters located at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom under the train station. Most guests would recognize this area as the place to pick up 'guidemaps' and 'times guides' as they rush toward 'Town Square.'
These attraction posters are made to resemble 'Coming Attractions' movie posters. After all, you are stepping into a show. Why else do you think the pavement is red (carpet) and there is a popcorn cart right inside the park (theater) entrance?Note the "Snow White's Adventures" carries the original name with the Scary omitted.
I don't know how original these posters are or if some of them are reproductions. A few of them did have copyright dates. You can see the 'Big Thunder Mountain Railroad' poster below dated 1979, a year before the ride's opening. Making this a true 'Coming Attraction' poster. You can read more about Disney Park Attraction Posters at: http://attractionposter.blogspot.com/
