Peter Pan Can

Diet Sprite soda can
Peter Pan, 1986
For the 15 Years celebration cans produced by Coca-cola, characters or areas of Walt Disney World were featured on specific flavors of soda.  Some choices, like this green Peter Pan Diet Sprite can, make sense, unlike the pink Adventureland Tab pirate.

Disney Ducklings

Minute Maid orange soda can
Huey, Dewey & Louie, 1986
All this month I have been sharing soda cans from Coca-cola's celebration of Walt Disney World's 15th Anniversary that featured EPCOT.  To close out the month and celebrate Easter, I thought it fitting to share these 'mischievous little' ducklings, Huey, Dewey & Louie.  Like their Uncle Donald, they are on a black Minute Maid orange soda can.

Spring Soda Celebration

Cherry Coke can
American Adventure, 1986
As we continue our Spring celebration of EPCOT, here is a third can from the Coca-cola company designed for the 15th Anniversary of Walt Disney World.  This Cherry Coke can features American Adventure in World Showcase, which, at the time, was sponsored by Coca-cola and American Express.

Cheers to Spaceship Earth

Coca-cola can
Spaceship Earth, 1986
Let's continue to celebrate EPCOT, or should I say EPCOT Center, all this month in the same fashion that the Coca-cola Company did back in 1986.  This commemorative 15th Anniversary can highlighted "the world's first geosphere," the 18-story symbol of EPCOT Center which would have been only 5 years old at the time.

Cheers to World Showcase

Coca-cola can
World Showcase, 1986
As the 23rd annual EPCOT International Food & Garden Festival kicks off this week, lets raise a glass.  Okay, lets raise a can of Coke, specifically this 30 year old can celebrating Walt Disney World's 15th Anniversary.  This is just one of several commemorative cans produced by Coca-cola in 1986.  You can view my previous posts here.  Cheers!

Happy 4th Anniversary!

4th birthday button
America On Parade, 1975

This week marks the 4th Anniversary of my blog.  To celebrate, I shall do as Walt Disney World did on their 4th birthday with this cast member birthday button.
Below are the top three viewed posts over the past 4 years.  Apparently diet drinks are popular Walt Disney World commemorative items.

Drink Up Me Hearties: October 12, 2013

Japanese Small Plate: September 21, 2013

Nutra-Sweet Daisy: September 7, 2013

Happy Anniversary and thanks for sharing some of the magic with me!

Tomorrowland Soda

Diet Coke can
Tomorrowland, 1986
If you were to assign a Coke product to Tomorrowland, what would it be?  I think Diet Coke makes sense.  Coca-cola certainly thought so in 1986 when they helped celebrate WDW's 15th Anniversary.  It is certainly better than their choice for Adventureland

Dopey Sprite

Sprite can
Dopey, 1986
Spring is here.  Time to open up a nice refreshing can of Dopey.  For WDW's 15 Years celebration in 1986, Coca-cola showcased characters, lands or attractions from the resort.  The dwarfs appeared on Sprite and Cherry Coke.  Cheers!

A Sprite in Fantasyland

Sprite can
Fantasyland, 1986
I've shared most of the dwarfs from Coca-Cola's "15 Years" can series celebrating Walt Disney World's 15th anniversary.  Now it is time to share the can featuring their 'land.'  Fantasyland joins Adventureland in this great series from 1986.

Here's to the Dwarfs

Cherry Coke can
Doc, 1986
It's finally here!  The Seven Dwarf's Mine Train Coaster has opened.  Let's lift a cold can of Cherry Coke ($1.49/6) from 1986 and honor their leader, Doc!  All seven dwarfs appeared on cans during Coca-cola's celebration of Walt Disney World's '15 Years.'  Doc joins Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy & Grumpy so far here on my blog.  Do you know which two are missing?

Bashful Can

Sprite can
Bashful, 1986
This week marked a milestone in the much anticipated opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  Real live people (well, actors) got to ride the new coaster.  I'm sure they were not like this "shy little fellow" that was featured on this Sprite can in 1986 as part of Coke's celebration of Walt Disney World's 15 Years.  For those of you keeping track, Bashful is the 4th dwarf to be shown here.  Who's next?  Such anticipation.....

Sleepy Soda Can

Cherry Coke can
Sleepy, 1986
The anticipation is building for the opening of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Coaster just like the original contents of this soda can if you were to have shaken it back in 1986 before opening.  So I thought I had better hurry up & share another one of the seven dwarfs' cans from Coca-cola's celebration of Walt Disney World's 15th anniversary.  Sleepy is featured on this Cherry Coke can.  Personally, I think it would have been better to have him on a non-caffeinated beverage.

Sneezy Can

Cherry Coke can
Sneezy, 1986
With all of the recent excitement over the near completion of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster, I thought I should share more of the dwarfs from the 15 Years can series that Coca-cola did in 1986.  And since this has been a week of cold and congestion for me, who better to share than Sneezy.  The dwarfs were featured on Sprite and Cherry Coke.  You can see Grumpy's Sprite can here.

Drink Up Me Hearties

Tab can
Adventureland, 1986
When I think of Adventureland, "a jungle of delights," Tab and the color pink immediately come to mind.  Well, at least it did for Coca-Cola and their celebration of Walt Disney World's 15th Anniversary.  This series of cans featured many individual Disney characters, some of which I have already posted.  But it also highlighted the various 'lands' of WDW.  Me, I would have selected Fantasyland for the pink Tab can.

Nutra-Sweet Daisy

Diet Minute Maid can, Daisy Duck, 1986
Since Donald was on the Minute Maid can, it only makes sense that his sweet girlfriend, Daisy, would be featured on the Diet Minute Maid can in this series from Coca-cola celebrating Walt Disney World's 15th Anniversary in 1986.
