Colorful Bucket Hat

Multi-colored Globe Head Bucket Hat
Thank you, Michelle from eBay (or the person who resold this), for the great bucket hat.  It prominently features the Big D/Globe Head logo with the added multi-color filler.  Also, note the ears are much more oval in shape as compared to the more circular traditional ears.  I have very few items in my collection that feature this colorful design and am not sure when it was popular.  If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to share them with me.

Intentional Omission

Child's bucket hat
Is this another example of some missing 'Lands?'  In this case, the 'non-lands' of Main Street, USA and Liberty Square are not included on this small child's bucket hat.  Of course, this could be due to the fact that the hat was made for both WDW and Disneyland and you won't find Liberty Square in California.

I'm a Winner!

Walt Disney World 15 Years sun visor
1986
I had a great time antiquing with my wife this weekend and came home A WINNER with a few early WDW postcards and this sun visor, complete with working flashing lights.  During their "15 Years" celebration in 1986, WDW gave prizes away, like this rainbow-striped gem, every 15 seconds.

Donald Duck Squeaker Hat

Donald Duck Squeaker Hat
To celebrate Donald's birthday today, I thought I would share one of my favorite Donald Duck pieces from my collection instead of wearing it around all day.  It has a great, working, squeaker in the bill and fun googly eyes.

Little Jimmy's First Mouse Ears

Child's Mouse Ears Hat

Jim was one lucky little boy to have this great puff ball mouse ears hat.  I will pretend it says Tim and was meant for me, especially with that prominent Big D logo right in the middle.  Such a great piece...and 50% Rayon - 50% Wool!  Clearly WDW was proud of that fact.  They put it right there on the front for all to see.

'it's a small world' music box.
'America On Parade' slides.
Cocoa brown tumbler glass.
Metal drink serving tray.

Bucket Hat

Bucket Hat
This child's bucket hat features the Big D logo and the early castle icon which was prominent on many early postcards, mugs, plates and other souvenirs.

The simple sketches of the characters are unique.  The Jungle Book came out in 1967 and so Baloo would have still been popular in the early 70's.

I have seen this same item with the Disneyland logo and one WDW version that had a tag indicating it was made for both parks.  This hat has no signs of ever having a tag.

If you have any thoughts about this item, please feel free to leave a comment.
