Back to School - WDW Style

Main Street, USA eraser
Here is the remainder of my early Walt Disney World eraser set that I began sharing last week.  These two highlight Main Street, USA and Tomorrowland.  My collection is missing just one of the lands.  Can you tell which one is missing in action?  It was probably used to erase a young child's doodle on their notebook... "I wish I was back at Disney."

School Supplies

Adventureland eraser
It's back to school time, at least here in the US.  Do you have all of your WDW school supplies?  Here are 3 rubber erasers featuring individual lands of the Magic Kingdom.  They measure 1 1/2" X 2" and are about 1/4" thick.  The printers in Japan need to go back to school apparently with typos like ADVENT_URELAND and FRONTIERLANDOD.

Before D23....

Official Disneyana Convention button
1994
Before the D23 Expo, there was the Official Disneyana Convention held from 1992-2003.  This large,4 inch, lenticular pin-back button from 1994 features Sorcerer Mickey conjuring up, or making disappear, the convention logo.  You can also see a plate from the same year with a similar design in my collection.

Sorry, Al

Water Recreation
pre-opening postcard
(FL-026)
Sorry, Al, the girl in the picture does not come with the hotel.  At least that is Bob's joke on this pre-opening WDW postcard.  But there are "...many like her down here asking for you."  The postcard was created prior to the 1971 opening (notice the future tense in the text) but Bob's visit and stay in the Contemporary was in March of 1973.

it's a small....thimble

Pewter thimble
I must admit, other than seeing them used as household objects for mice in cartoons, I don't believe I've ever seen a thimble utilized other than as a collector's item.  And I doubt that this great piece from Walt Disney World was ever used by a mouse or a seamstress.
This little guy is 3/4" tall and 3/4" wide at the base.  Standard thimble size, I presume.  The top has an excellently detailed curved Big D/Globe Head logo over Cinderella Castle covered in a clear enamel.  The inside is stamped with Walt Disney Productions.
