Before Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom

Pluto and the Adventure of the Golden Scepter
a Little Golden Book, 1972

Before there was Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, the current interactive role-playing game, there was Pluto and Morty Mouse setting out on a quest through the various lands of the Magic Kingdom.  This Little Golden Book from 1972 highlighted the various themed lands of this new vacation destination in Florida by sending Pluto on an adventure looking for the missing scepter of  'the King' that lived in Cinderella's Castle.  Pluto mistakes Mickey's drum major mace on Main Street, Minnie's tour guide riding crop in Tomorrowland and so on.  (I don't want to ruin the ending for you)
Since this Magic Kingdom had just opened a few months prior, the book used the Walt Disney World logo with the Florida Flag to separate itself from its sister park in California.  (Something that still confuses people today)

Sneezy Can

Cherry Coke can
Sneezy, 1986
With all of the recent excitement over the near completion of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster, I thought I should share more of the dwarfs from the 15 Years can series that Coca-cola did in 1986.  And since this has been a week of cold and congestion for me, who better to share than Sneezy.  The dwarfs were featured on Sprite and Cherry Coke.  You can see Grumpy's Sprite can here.

German Winter Olympic small world Love

it's a small world postcard
01110237 dp 79915-c
As the world celebrates the Winter Olympics and to coincide with the Valentine's season, it is only fitting that I share this 'it's a small world' postcard featuring a German Polka band adorned with hearts and a couple figure skating.  What a coincidence!  The postcard is from the DP series.  Note the unique castle icon at the bottom, indicating this is a card from Fantasyland.

Bunny, Bubbles & Beulah

The Country Bear Jamboree postcard
01110218
Ok, so I said that last week was the end of the focus on the Country Bear Jamboree BUT this postcard just happens to be next in the 0111 series.  Plus, how can you pass on the Sun Bonnet Trio.  Notice this postcard was printed both with and without the Florida Flag logo.
